Oxford Library Code of Conduct
The Oxford College Library welcomes you to an environment conducive to a variety of study needs and intellectual pursuits. We provide quality services, excellent resources, comprehensive collections, and a comfortable and safe environment.
This Code of Conduct is intended to ensure a positive experience for all library users. Library users can expect to be treated with courtesy and respect by library staff and other library users, in keeping with Emory University's policies and the Emory Libraries policies.
All library users, including visitors, are expected to treat library staff and other library users with courtesy and respect and are subject to relevant University policies, including, but not limited to:

Library Policies
- You may consume food and drink in the libraries. Some spaces are off limits to food and drink; look for signage. Please remember to clean up your food containers. In the event of a spill, contact a staff member.
- Library users must not create a disturbance or behave in a manner which interferes with normal use of the libraries, including: rowdiness, excessive noise, loitering and offensive interpersonal behavior. If you need to study with others or use an individual study, please reserve a space.
- Consistent with the Respect for Open Expression Policy, specific areas of libraries that contain valuable or sensitive materials, collections, equipment, and records protected by law are not available for Events, Meetings, or Protests (as those terms are defined in the Open Expression Policy) unless a special exception is granted.
- Flyers and other signs may only be posted on designated bulletin boards within the Libraries. Flyers and signs may not be posted on walls, furniture, elevators, windows, doors, or other surfaces. Posting on bulletin boards does not constitute review or endorsement of the content. Note: The Hugh F. MacMillan Law Library does not have a bulletin board. Flyers and other signs are prohibited in the law library unless expressly permitted by the law library administration.

- Certain resources are restricted to Emory faculty, staff, and students: group and individual studies, production studios, electronic resources, general and specialized computer workstations, loanable equipment, and interlibrary loan services.

Animals Policy
Emory University is committed to maintaining an environment that is free of unlawful harassment and discrimination. Emory University welcomes and promotes an open and genuinely diverse environment. In furtherance of this commitment to nondiscrimination and harassment, and in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), The Fair Housing Act, and state and local law, the University will accommodate individuals with disabilities who require the assistance of a qualified service animal or a support animal (collectively, Assistance Animals). This policy addresses use of Assistance Animals on University grounds and facilities. Emory’s Department of Accessibility Services (DAS) provides information, assistance and support for individuals with Assistance Animals.

Consequences
Failure to comply with the expectations set forth in this Code of Conduct may result in loss of privileges, including removal from the building.
Breaking a University or Library policy may result in library staff following the procedures outlined in university and Library policies mentioned above. For undergraduates, library staff may file a report with the Student Conduct Council; for graduate students, library staff will contact the Laney Graduate School; for faculty and staff, library staff will consult with Human Resources. For visitors and community users, library staff may ask you to leave the library.
